What Is Body Doubling, Actually?

Body doubling is the practice of working alongside another person โ€” virtually or in person โ€” to help your brain stay anchored to the task at hand. For ADHD-wired brains, the presence of another human creates just enough social accountability to bridge the gap between “I should start this” and “I am actually doing this right now.”

It is one of the most effective, lowest-friction focus tools available for neurodivergent brains โ€” and one of the least talked about. No special equipment. No elaborate system. Just a real human in the room with you while you work.

Why it works for ADHD brains

ADHD is largely a disorder of activation and regulation, not attention or intelligence. External cues โ€” including the social presence of another person โ€” help the brain initiate and sustain focus in ways internal cues alone often cannot.

Presence alone reduces task avoidance, lowers initiation friction, and helps regulate the nervous system enough to actually begin.

What platform do we use for the session?

Sessions are held over video call. The link will be included in your booking confirmation after you schedule.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Just know roughly what you want to work on. You do not need a perfect plan, a clean desk, or your life together. Showing up is the only requirement.

What if I need more than one session?

Purchase as many individual sessions as you need. Each one is booked and billed separately at $50. There is no package requirement.

Do I have to have ADHD to book a session?

Absolutely not. Body doubling works for anyone who benefits from external accountability and shared focus. ADHD-friendly does not mean ADHD-only.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

You can reschedule up to 24 hours before your session through your booking confirmation link. Please reach out via the contact page if you need assistance.

Is this confidential?

Yes. What you work on in your session is entirely your business. Sessions are not recorded.
